Vigor Completes Work on USCGC John McCormick

Vigor Alaska, a Titan Company, successfully completed a dry dock and repair work solicitation on U.S. Coast Guard Cutter John McCormick this month, returning it to service ahead of schedule. The $3.65 million contract was awarded in November 2023 and represents the first non-emergent maintenance solicitation awarded to the Ketchikan Shipyard since 2011. USCGC McCormick is homeported at Coast Guard Base Ketchikan, only 3.5 miles from the Ketchikan Shipyard. This was also the first time a vessel of USCGC McCormick's class has been serviced at Ketchikan Shipyard, which is operated by Vigor and owned by the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA).

Vigor Completes DSRA on USS Tulsa at Swan Island

Vigor, a Titan Company, successfully completed a 13-month docking-selected restricted availability (DSRA) on USS Tulsa (LCS 16), returning it to service on-schedule in October. This is the second DSRA that Vigor has completed in 2023, and the third Navy ship repair project that the company has completed this year.

Vigor Begins Work on USNS John Lewis

Vigor, a Titan Company, has begun work on a Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA) on USNS John Lewis (T-AO-205), a first-of-its-class U.S. Navy replenishment oiler. The $27.9 million contract will be the first time a shipyard has performed maintenance on the new John Lewis class vessel. The vessel arrived in September and will continue maintenance into 2024.

Vigor Begins Work on USCGC John McCormick at Ketchikan Shipyard

The U.S Coast Guard has awarded Vigor Alaska, a Titan company, a contract to perform maintenance and repairs on U.S. Coast Guard Cutter John McCormick at the Ketchikan Shipyard. CGC John McCormick will be the first Coast Guard maintenance solicitation awarded at the Ketchikan Shipyard since 2011. The Fast Response Cutter is stationed at Coast Guard Base Ketchikan, just 3.5 miles from Ketchikan Shipyard, ensuring work on this locally-based vessel supports jobs in Ketchikan’s local economy. Work on the vessel begins this week.

Washington State Ferries is celebrating a major milestone on its journey to zero emissions by 2050, awarding its first shipyard contract to Vigor for the conversion of up to three Jumbo Mark II-class ferries to hybrid-electric power.

Titan Announces Public Affairs Team Changes, Welcomes Frank Collins

Titan, a family of bicoastal leaders in ship repair, ship modernization, marine and complex fabrication services inclusive of Vigor, MHI Holdings and Continental Maritime of San Diego (CSMD), announced Frank Collins will join the company as Senior Vice President, Government and Public Affairs. Collins will replace long-time Vigor Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, Jill Mackie, who has announced her retirement effective the end of June. Additionally, Benton Strong was recently named Director of Public Affairs, responsible for all communications, as well as state and local government affairs across all Titan companies.

Carlyle and Stellex Complete Sale of Titan to an Affiliate of Lone Star Funds

Funds managed by global investment firm Carlyle (NASDAQ: CG) and private equity firm Stellex Capital Management today announced they have completed the sale of Titan Acquisition Holdings, a bi-coastal leader in ship repair services and marine and heavy complex fabrication, to an affiliate of Lone Star Funds. The initial definitive agreement of the sale was announced in February 2023.

Vigor successfully completes USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112)

Vigor, a Titan company, successfully completed a nine-month docking selected restricted availability (DSRA) on USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112), returning it to service on-schedule. This is the third DSRA Vigor has completed at Pearl Harbor since 2021. This contract was awarded to Vigor after a successful challenge last year.

Vigor Successfully Completes USS Chosin (CG 65) Modernization at Harbor Island

Vigor, a Titan company, successfully completed a three-year modernization project on USS Chosin (CG 65) at its Harbor Island shipyard today, sending the U.S. Navy ship back to its homeport of Everett Naval Station. The project, which encompassed nearly two million hours of work for Vigor employees, was one of the largest, longest and most complex in Vigor’s history.
